Because unlike a lot of technology professionals who'll try to fit your business to their hardware and software offerings, I'm an accountant first, a Microsoft Certified Professional and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor second. I've hired and trained associates who fully understand and embrace my "business first" philosophy.

A little background on me: I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a B.B.A. in Accounting, with a focus on Information Systems. I've worked with clients such as Harvard Law School, M. Stienert & Sons, Boston Neurosurgical Foundation, and Alexander and Baldwin in Hawaii. While I was at Youthstsream Media Networks in Cambridge, MA, I developed partnerships with CIOs and CFOs of higher education institutions to develop online tutorial programs. I've always been entrepreneurial by nature--even when I was living in Hawaii I created and maintained a Web-based mail order business.

In the Spring of 2001, I opened One8 Solutions in West Newton, Massachusetts. I put "solutions" into the very name of the company because that's what we do--provide solutions. Usually that means a technology answer, but sometimes all a company really needs is the help of a qualified bookkeeper. If so, we'll bring one in.
