QuickBooks Tip of the Month: Maximize Class & Location Tracking
Want to see how each part of your business is performing? Use Class and Location Tracking in QuickBooks Online to break out profitability by department, product line, or location.
Here’s how to turn it on in QuickBooks Online:
- Go to the Gear Icon > Account and Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab, then scroll to Categories.
- Turn on Track classes and/or Track locations.
- Choose whether to track by line item or entire transaction.
- Click Save and Done.
To add classes or locations:
- Go to the Gear Icon > All Lists > Classes or Locations.
- Click New, name it, and click Save.
Use these in invoices, bills, and expenses to get clearer reports—and make better decisions with segmented financial data.
