Accounting Tip of the Month: Streamline Vendor Connections with QuickBooks Online
The QuickBooks Business Network (QBN) is an underutilized feature in QuickBooks Online that can make working with vendors and customers smoother and faster. If you’re manually entering vendor info and invoices—there’s a better way.
Here’s how QBN can benefit your business:
- Faster Bill Entry
When you’re connected to a vendor through QBN, their invoices can automatically appear in your QuickBooks account. All you need to do is review and create the bill—no manual entry required. - More Accurate Data
Vendor details like email, phone, and address are pulled directly from their QBO account, giving you up-to-date contact info and reducing the chance of data entry errors. - Save Time on Reconciliation
With pre-filled and connected invoices, reconciliation becomes smoother and faster—less digging for missing info or correcting typos. - Easy Vendor Search
When adding a new vendor or customer, you can search the QBN by business name to find and connect instantly. Once connected, you’ll see their shared customer-facing details. - Keep in Mind: It’s QBO-Only
The QuickBooks Business Network only works if the other company is also a QBO user and opts into the network. If they’re not in QBO or haven’t enabled QBN, you won’t be able to connect.
QuickBooks Business Network helps you spend less time on data entry and more time focusing on your business. If you haven’t explored it yet, it could be a game-changer for your vendor management process.
