QuickBooks Tip of the Month: Sync QBO with Excel for Real-Time Analysis
Say goodbye to exporting static reports. With Spreadsheet Sync, QuickBooks Online Advanced connects live data to Excel so you can run reports, analyze numbers, and post updates without leaving your workbook.
How to Use Spreadsheet Sync:
- Go to Settings ⚙ → Spreadsheet Sync in QBO Advanced.
- In Excel, open the Spreadsheet Sync add-in.
- Sign in with your QuickBooks credentials.
- Run reports like Profit & Loss directly in Excel.
- Create or edit records, then click Sync to QuickBooks.
Tip: Use live synced data as a reference when building custom reports or dashboards. When you refresh Spreadsheet Sync data, Excel formatting can be overwritten—so build charts and dashboards off referenced cells or separate tabs. Also note: only QBO Advanced or Accountant Admins can use Spreadsheet Sync. Refresh before analyzing to pull the latest data.
