This August, Gang Green will once again take part in the Cross Check Cancer Women’s Hockey Tournament, a charity event that supports an important cause close to their hearts.
The Cross Check Cancer Women’s Hockey Tournament is an organization that not only celebrates the sport of hockey but also aims to make a difference in the fight against cancer. This annual tournament donates 100 percent of its proceeds to benefit Dana-Farber’s Adult Survivorship Program. The event has become a beacon of hope and empowerment, showcasing the strength and resilience of women battling and overcoming cancer.
The Dana-Farber Adult Survivorship Program is a vital initiative that provides essential support to cancer survivors. The program focuses on helping survivors regain their physical and emotional strength, enabling them to pursue their passions both on and off the ice. Julie and her team, Gang Green, have been actively participating in the Cross Check Cancer Women’s Hockey Tournament for the past several years. Through their unwavering dedication and love for the game, they have collectively raised over $170,000 in support of Dana-Farber’s Adult Survivorship Program. Last year, the North Shore Women’s Hockey League of Boston (WHLB) raised over $65,000 and is hoping to exceed that goal this year.
