Get Bill Pay Elite for your firm at no cost

In a nutshell: You may have added the new QuickBooks Bill Pay for your clients to help them streamline payments, save time, and manage liability.** Now you can get QuickBooks Bill Pay Elite to simplify your firm’s accounts payable, at no subscription cost. 

For your firm’s own use, add Bill Pay Elite and pay no subscription fee, no fees for ACH payments, and get 15% off transaction fees.*

Your firm can use Bill Pay’s time-saving automation, from tracking and paying bills to gathering business insights, all in QuickBooks Online Accountant.** With Bill Pay Elite, you can assign which firm members can create, approve, and pay bills—and limit access to your books. You can also issue unlimited 1099s, for no additional fee.**

Eligibility: This offer is eligible to accounting firms who register or have registered for QuickBooks Online Accountant (“QBOA”) and use the ProAdvisor Discount option (“QBOA Customer”) to subscribe to QuickBooks Bill Pay (“Bill Pay”) for the QBOA Customer’s firm. Billing: The QBOA Customer’s account will automatically be charged on a monthly basis until the Bill Pay subscription is canceled. The first billing date will be prorated and deferred to the next existing QBOA billing date (“Existing Billing Date”), unless Bill Pay enrollment is on the same date as the Existing Billing Date, in which case the full monthly cost will be charged upon enrollment. To cancel your Bill Pay subscription, go to Account & Settings > Billing & Subscription in QBOA, and select “Cancel” for QuickBooks Bill Pay. Cancellation will become effective at the end of the monthly billing period. You will not receive a prorated refund.

Standard ACH: Limits may apply on total number and amount of payments.

Auto-match transactions: QuickBooks Online will only match bank withdrawals with transactions processed through QuickBooks Bill Pay. Not all transactions are eligible and accuracy of matches is not guaranteed.

Unlimited 1099 e-file: Create and e-file unlimited 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms in QuickBooks. 1099 forms are e-filed only for the current filing year and for payments recorded in QuickBooks to your vendors or contractors. Excludes state filings, please check with your state agency on any state filing requirements. If you choose the 1099 E-File Service, Intuit will e-file your Federal 1099 information with the IRS, and then print and mail a copy directly to your vendors and contractors (excluding corrections). As part of the 1099 E-File Service, we also give your vendors and contractors online access to their 1099s.

Mix and match client or firm billing for each of your client’s products

In a nutshell: You now have more flexibility and control over who pays for your clients’ QuickBooks subscriptions. Through QuickBooks Online Accountant, you can mix and match the billing options for each QuickBooks product based on what best suits your client and your firm.

Rather than billing either your firm or your client for all of their QuickBooks Online products, you will now be able to select how to bill each one. Choose to have your clients directly pay for services with variable fees, like Online Payroll, 1099 filings or Contractor Payments, and Time, while your firm continues to pay for QuickBooks Online. The ability to split the billing per product might even make it easier for your firm to recommend Online Payroll to your clients without having to manage its monthly billing and operations. (Note: Later this year, you’ll also be able to split the billing options for QuickBooks Bill Pay.)

This new customization will apply to both your existing and new clients, and can help your firm standardize your monthly QuickBooks invoice without the complications of variable costs. Sign into QuickBooks Online Accountant and go to Subscriptions and billing to choose the right billing option for each of your clients’ subscriptions.

Make paycheck corrections after payroll

In a nutshell:  When you can fix payroll after processing, you can feel more in control when running it. You and your clients can now record payroll after employees have been paid, or void a check and recreate it with updates—even if the tax payment will be past due.

In QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can correct payroll mistakes and manage payroll for employees whose paychecks haven’t been recorded within the current tax quarter. Note that corrections can only be made if taxes haven’t been filed for that period.

After any payroll changes you make, QuickBooks will also remind you to check your payroll taxes to see whether the amount you owe has changed.

Digitize the I-9 employment verification process with QuickBooks Online Payroll

In a nutshell: Your clients using QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium and Elite can now collaborate more easily with their employees to complete I-9 employment verification.

Rather than rely on hard copies of this important form, clients can simplify and digitize the I-9 process:

  • As part of their QuickBooks Workforce self-setup in the web portal, a new employee will confirm their identity and eligibility for U.S. employment.
  • On their start date, the new employee will bring their ID-confirming documents to your client.
  • Within three days of this start date, your client will complete their part of the I-9 form in QuickBooks.
  • Afterward, for your client’s safekeeping, the employee’s I-9 will be stored in the Documents tab of the employee profile.

Note: QuickBooks Workforce must be enabled for an employee for them to self-setup and complete their I-9 form, and employees must have access to QuickBooks Workforce to complete self-setup and their portion of the I-9 form. This feature is only available in the QuickBooks Workforce web portal.

Explore the unified home view in QuickBooks Online

In a nutshell: Your client’s default view in QuickBooks Online now has a more streamlined layout. In Dashboards, a new tab called Home combines the previous Get things done and Business overview tabs.

In the Home tab, your client can view business performance and complete work tasks in the same place. They can also personalize the page like a dashboard by resizing, reordering, adding, and removing widgets to help them fit their needs and work the way they want.

By default, your client’s homepage will include productivity and insights widgets, as well as discovery widgets or suggestions for an improved experience from the start.

Mailchimp discounts for clients through the ProAdvisor program

In a nutshell: Sometimes, what your client needs most to grow their business is to reach more customers. As a ProAdvisor, you can now help answer those needs by offering them an exclusive discount on Mailchimp that will be available this month.

When a client signs up through you for a Mailchimp Standard or Premium plan, they can receive an exclusive discount of 30% off for one year.*

To share your discount with your clients, sign into QuickBooks Online Accountant, select ProAdvisor, choose the Benefits tab, and share the link with your client discount. If your firm is also interested in trying out Mailchimp to find more clients, you can also get an exclusive firm discount of 75% off for one year.**
